Nose

The nose is rich and worth allowing to open up, as it gradually sheds tropical fruit-pineapple, lime-ginger mottled, baked pear notes. If you wait, even a hint of linden blossom and even popcorn will come through.

Palate

Creamy on the palate. Toasty notes, toasted almonds and buttery character reflect the careful use of oak, as the wine’s acidity also comes through and leads the citrus flavours nicely. This fruit tends to dominate on the medium-long finish. A complex yet light wine.

Growing Conditions

Harvest from the Marinka vineyard. The 2022 vintage started with late budding and prolonged initial shoot growth, before the late spring warming caused flowering to start just a few days later than the long-term average. This was followed by hot weather in early summer and drought conditions that persisted throughout the summer. We were concerned about our vines and the quality and quantity of our crops because of the drought problems nationwide. A few small rains before the harvest helped the plants a lot, and overall we harvested a nice fruit, free of drought symptoms.
