Palate

One of a kind: a single vineyard Portugieser from Ördögárok. A vibrant hue with depth, the nose is dominated by plums, blackberries and cherries complemented by the aromas and spicy notes of oak ageing and also of the plot’s soil composition.

Growing Conditions

After last year's drought year, 2023 turned out to be richer in precipitation. The winter was characterized by relatively high temperatures and precipitation, followed by a cooler period during the spring. In addition to rains, this summer was accompanied by pleasant warmth, so we had to put a lot of emphasis on plant protection. This year, it was crucial that the viticultural works were carried out on time and precisely, so that a healthy and optimal amount of grapes could arrive. We started the harvest work on August 21, a little later than in previous years, but at the same time, both the quality and quantity of the harvest exceeded our expectations, so this year of struggle bore its fruit. During the harvest, we had beautiful, mostly dry and warm weather, we managed to choose the ideal picking times, so the last tractor could roll into the cellar on October 18, in a period similar to previous years. All in all, this year proved to be a vintage full of struggles, but of very high quality. The 2023 vintage will be remembered for a long time to come, both from a viticultural and oenological point of view.
