Palate

This Kékfrankos beautifully reflects the imprint of its place of origin in the wine; spicy, refined and extremely flavorful.

Growing Conditions

The year started with a mild winter, outdoor work was not hindered by cold weather, and pruning work went according to plan. The vines did not suffer frost damage, as a result, the subsequent bud break was even. Spring and summer were warm, with ideal rainfall. Thanks to the large foliage wall, moderate foliage and airy cluster zone, the grapes were able to develop evenly. The fully ripe, fruity, and sophisticated grapes were harvested on October 10. This Kékfrankos comes from our Kerek-hegy plantation and earned the Szekszárd bottle during the blind tasting, a total of 2,500 bottles were made.

Winemaking

The crate harvest was followed by manual bunch selection. After picking, we fermented in open vats, with manual crushing for 10 days. After the grapes had fermented, they were soaked on the skins for 10 days, without maceration. Thanks to the long natural settling, the wines arrived in the cellar mirror-clear, almost completely sediment-free. The first two wine pressings took place before Christmas.
