Growing Conditions
Our press house is surrounded by our 23-year-old Kadarka plantation. For years, we have been patiently waiting for the Kadarka season to arrive: a drought-free vintage in which the crop ripens perfectly and shows off the variety at its best.
The year started with a mild winter, outdoor work was not hindered by the cold weather, and pruning work went according to plan. The Nyéki-hegy vines did not suffer from frost damage either, as a result of which the subsequent bud burst was even. The spring was cool, the summer was mild, and the autumn was exceptionally beautiful. Thanks to this weather, there was moderate shoot growth, the foliage did not thicken, the clusters were in the sun almost the entire time, so no rot occurred during ripening, which is exceptional for Kadarka.
