Growing Conditions

The single vineyard Holdvölgy means moon valley and is located close to the village Mád. Holdvölgy spans over one hectar and is facing south-west and is situatied on the plateau of the back of the hill. This situation ensures a intense sun light and protects from frost.

The 3,500 vinegrapes (40% Hárslevelü and 60% Furmint) were planted in 1984 and grow on heavy clay soil which contains rhyolit-tuff-stone. This single vineyard usually shows a reliable amount of botrytisation and because of that is used mostly for sweet wine production although in some years also a fantastic dry Furmint with an outstanding sweetness-acidity structure with great substance is produced.
