Palate
A classic representation of the grape variety that doesn’t rely on body, density, or heaviness but rather captivates with its elegance. It immediately evokes a Loire style, yet it’s riper—though still far from a Villányi wine. This one is unmistakably from Badacsony!
It fits perfectly into the fruit-forward profile we’ve tasted from the North Balaton region in recent years. An elegant fruit bomb.
Growing Conditions
The 2022 vintage was greeted with optimism by the winemaking community, given the favorable weather conditions. The balance of rainfall and sunshine throughout the year created ideal conditions for the healthy development of the vines. As a result, winemakers were able to work with high-quality grapes, which allowed them to choose from a wide range of wines. The character of the 2022 wines is dominated by harmony, which makes this vintage particularly attractive to consumers. Overall, the 2022 vintage is a great choice for lovers of quality wines.
Winemaking
An important and old Bordeaux variety. It usually produces a paler, lighter, softer and more fragrant wine than Cabernet Sauvignon, and is also prone to greenish, vegetal tones. According to recent research, it is of Basque origin, and is the ancestor of Cabernet Sauvignon (one of its "parents", along with Sauvignon Blanc). It is grown on 1,300 hectares in Mo.
