Growing Conditions
We started the year with a very long winter. It could have been from the beginning of April to really work in the vineyard. In April, however, the grapes grew so fast that by the end of the month they were already 40-50 cm tall we had to deal with drives. After a rapid flowering, the work processes were accelerated with the help of the weather, so that a harvest began on August 7. Three days at the end of August as much precipitation falls (120 mm), which is enough for the whole summer would have been, so the harvest had to be really sped up. We could measure high levels of sugar in the fruits, which means high alcohol contents for both white and red wines. The early-ripening white varieties and blue grapes had an excellent vintage, but late-ripening white grapes had an average vintage.
