A brief history
Hangyál Winery is all about family. We really love the role of wine in our lives. It has brought out things in us that no other thing would have brought out. The most important thing for us is to live in love with family, grapes and wine, that's all we need.
We have emerged as a new generation in the Pannonhalma wine region. We want to show people a lot with our wines and grape cultivation, which is how we can best serve the wine region. And we want to give guests who come to the winery an experience.
The physical work involved in grapes and wine, the crop restrictions, and the close-to-nature farming all exude a certain freshness. We try to cultivate our grapes in the way that is best for them, although this presents quite a few challenges. We plant butterfly plants in the rows so that when we go out into the vineyard, we feel as if we are in a blooming vineyard. It is a dazzling sight when the phacelia, the purple coneflower, or the buckwheat are blooming in the vineyard. Walking through the beautiful vineyards gives us extra energy, strength, and ambition, which helps us overcome difficulties.
The building complex on Héma-tető in Nyúl is the center of our winery. Here is the original schoolhouse built in 1904, which has now become a winery. Next to it, more than a hundred years later, our "show winery" was built.
