A brief history
The family winery was started in the late 1980s by the father, Tamás Gere, who, recognizing the market situation - and learning the tricks of the trade - began to deal with grape growing. As a member of the Villány Five, Tamás was among the first to venture into commercial winemaking, which helped establish Villány's current reputation. This momentum lasted until 1998, when Tamás had an unfortunate accident. In the middle of the harvest season, due to a bad step, he slipped and fell off the tank, resulting in a broken leg. Tamás' son, Zsolt, was just starting his final year at the Budafok Winemaking School in the fall, when the family suddenly interrupted everything and called him home. At a young age, but with great will, Zsolt successfully overcame the first obstacle. Since then, the traces of his hand have been praised by more than beautiful items. Thanks to his long search and constant monitoring of the market, Zsolt now produces his wines in a recognizable style. In addition to elegance and detail, vigor and youth also play an important role in the creation of each wine.
Zsolt's sister, Viktória, graduated in tourism and currently works as the manager of a wine house and guesthouse in the center of Villány!
Tamás' wife, Márta, is also actively involved in the family business. She watches over the young people's success in the office in the background.
