A brief history
Bárdos Winery is a family business located in Nagyréde, in the Mátra wine region, which we founded in 1999. We planted our 10-hectare vineyard on brown forest soil with narrow row spacing. Our grape varieties include Irsai Olivér, Chardonnay, Pinot grigio, Ottonel muskotály, Olaszrizling, Furmint, Zenit, Müller-Thurgau, Traminer, Kékfrankos, Pinot noir, Cabernet sauvignon and Cabernet franc. Our most important vineyards are located within the borders of Nagyréde. In these areas, cultivation takes place within the framework of the agri-environmental management program. We work on the plantations using the umbrella cultivation method and reduce the capital load with green harvesting, thanks to which our processed raw material is of better quality. We also purchase a significant amount of grapes from local grape growers, as we produce 3,000 hl of wine annually.
Our wines are made from processed grapes, using cooled, controlled fermentation, a significant part of which is reductive in nature. Our winery focuses on making fragrant white and rosé wines, taking advantage of the characteristics of the wine region. In addition to fresh, fruity wines, barrel-aged wines are also made. We have won awards at numerous domestic and international wine competitions over the years. Our winemaking philosophy: to produce high-quality wines that meet the tastes of consumers by combining modern winemaking technology and traditions.
