A brief history
Saving the Archbishop's Vineyard
The Almagyar Érseki Vineyard was established in 2009 to save the 100-year-old Érseki vineyard on the Almagyar hill, which was destined to be cut down. On the 3.5-hectare vineyard, in addition to the saved Érseki grape, we work with our own clone selections and plantations such as our selected Italian Riesling, mézesfehér, ogudtálpú, kereklevelű and Ménesi Kadarka, Furmint or Menoir and our 60-year-old Leányka plantation. The Wine Camping and Vines Spa opened on our estate in 2014, where we welcome our guests with a wine terrace set among the vines, comfortable 4-person bungalows, caravan and tent sites, our natural wines, food and the view of Nagy Eged.
We harvest from a total of 8 hectares of first-class vineyards in Eger. Our natural wines are made in Ferenc Csutorás' cellar in oak barrels and wooden barrels by spontaneous fermentation, avoiding technological interventions.
