This wine represents the standard of Balaton, showcasing the most prominent grape variety of the region. Like all of our wines, it was matured in wooden barrels. The 225-liter barrels used for aging were a mix of both new and seasoned wood, providing a balanced influence on the wine's character. The final product spent 10 months in barrels before being transferred to steel tanks for an additional 3 months, allowing natural self-purification to occur. Although it is a white wine, it is bottled without any clarification or filtration. We willingly take this risk to preserve the wine’s fullest flavors and authentic character. The result is a serious wine with a rich, complex taste, yet it remains approachable and easy to enjoy.

The base of this wine is Sangiovese Grosso, a variety with exceptional aging potential. Known for its extremely late ripening, the crop requires strict control to ensure quality. Its origins trace back to Tuscany, where it has been cultivated for centuries. Historical records dating back 2,500 years show that both the Etruscans and Romans grew this grape. We are proud to be the first winery in Hungary to work with Sangiovese Grosso. If that were not the case, it would imply the variety was already present in the Province of Pannonia during the Roman Empire.

Hand-picked clusters of Bourdeaux-selected French clones of cabernet franc was processed in this wine. After the fermentation with natural yeast the wine spent 12 months in differently toasted new 225 l barrels. Bottled after soft clarifying without filtering.
