Growing Conditions
Our home, the St. George Mountain, lays in the Protected "Balatonfelvidéki" National Park.
The organic vineyard lies on a volcanic hill, the base soil consists mainly of volcanic heritage and the "Pannon" marine deposit. There are significant microclimatic differences in the mountain's main climate. Since the mountain blocks the northern winds its south side is dominated by sub-mediterranean characteristics.
Harvest
Yield: 60 dkg / vine
Winemaking
Hand-picked clusters of Bourdeaux-selected French clones of cabernet franc was processed in this wine. After the fermentation with natural yeast the wine spent 12 months in differently roasted new 225 l barrels. Bottled after soft clarifying without filtering.
Aging
As all of our wines this was matured in wooden barrels as well. The 225-liter barrels are partially new, partially old.
